Match Report
Uppingham School Boys-U18A vs  The Leys School
On: Saturday, 04 Dec 2021
Venue: Away

Uppingham XV had a fruitful trip to The Leys today. After a purposeful week of training they were well tested by a gritty Leys side who were playing their last game of the season, sending off not only their U6th but also their Coach Mr Thomas. We wish him the best in the new year with his new post at arch rivals The Perse.

Uppingham scored 5 tries through the backs this weekend, after the introduction of 'tempo' running during the week they quickly found their stride and Henry Hargreaves once again proved impossible to stop. The forwards, however, should not go unrecognised. They set a great platform throughout the day and the return of Harry seemed to help the Lineout purr this week. Olly Arnold led the team with oomph this week with a busy and combatative performance.

Freddie Read and Fergus Makepeace once again steered the ship and the latter even getting his much wanted cameo in the midfield.

It was great to see Ade flying down the wing and get through the game unscathed ready for his final night starring in the school production Working, where he is equally impressive.

With the Oakham game round the corner this game was a good test for the boys, who found themselves reduced to 14 men on more than one occasion. The game also saw Ben Moss, who has contributed 5 years to the rugby program, play his last XV a-side match for Uppingham. Thank you for your efforts Ben and we hope this game was a good send off for you.

For your fellow Warriors, we have one more job to do...
