Match Report
Uppingham School Boys-U15B vs  The Perse School
On: Saturday, 11 Sep 2021
Venue: at Home

The U15Bs started the season with a vintage performance, reminiscent of the classic Ba-Bas and Lions of the ‘70s with constant action, offloading and quick play. Ed “Try” Bligh started and ended the game demonstrating how difficult it will be to leave him out of the A team scoring some amazing individual tries and finishing off good team moves (ending with an impressive 5 tries, 3 conversions and 31 points). Fish and the Lucas twins led our line with effective line speed and our 1 v 1 defence all across the field was monstrous, not missing any tackles over the course of the game.

The ‘Ping scored regularly after an initial competitive first quarter, with Luvisutto making an impressive end to his first week in the school, pulling the strings from 9 and ensuring the boys played with the lighting quick style to which they aspire. Llamas was an effective addition to the front row and was unfortunate, after remarkable ball carrying and evasion, to dot down over the wrong line and missed the chance to grab the first try of the season.

As the group noted in the post match huddle, the team work rate to be Best off the Ball and the willingness to support each other after mistakes set our performance apart. There are plenty of work-ons for next week as well giving a perfect start the season.
