Match Report
Uppingham School Boys-U15C vs  Warwick School
On: Saturday, 18 Sep 2021
Venue: Away

The 15C's had their first game of the season away at Warwick with a number of boys playing full contact for the first time although there were nerves the boys showed great character and energy against a much more experienced Warwick side we played three 15 min halves and found ourselves 19 points down after the first half but had held our own with some excellent ball carrying from Egor Danilov and Harry Woolfenden. The three tries that we conceded were from us coughing up possession in contact which is an area that we will improve on,the second half saw us ask more questions of our opponent and after some excellent rucking we crossed the line for our first points Eliigh Martey being the man.The boys stuck to their task well against a side that could change their playing 10 with 10 lots of fresh legs with their squad being much bigger and stronger and that started to tell as the game went on as our boys started to fade but we kept fighting and were rewarded with two more tries from the ever impressive Egor and a delighted Harry Garrett-Long.Final score 51-17 but not a true reflection on how well the boys did with more work on our tackling and ball retention we look forward to a tough but rewarding season.
