On: Saturday, 05 Feb 2022
Venue: tbc

Our previous match-up against Bromsgrove had been a nail-biting victory. However, our most recent outing against them proved much more different.

1st Quarter; An exhilarating start from Barney Warner (WB) and Sean Chitakunye (SH) provided a commanding lead over Bromsgrove. Fast break points and back-to-back threes from both Sean and Barney strengthened both the spirit and confidence of the team. Ending in 24 -8, in Uppingham's favour, the highest-scoring quarter yet this season.

2nd Quarter: The energy and confidence did not die down from the team at the start of the second quarter. Cyrus Wong and Kevin Liu provided leadership on the floor and there were valuable points scored by Diamond and Artyom. This allowed the momentum to stay strong until halftime.

3rd Quarter: The second half had similar traits to the first. Uppingham established a comfortable pace on the floor, forcing the Bromsgrove players to play on their terms, along with outstanding defence from Barney, Sean and Rahim Abdullayev (M) forced the Bromsgrove players to get turnovers and missed shots. The younger players in the team, such as Diamond Sirithanchai (LH) provided sharp shooting and quick offensive possessions in Uppingham's favour and continue to build a strong lead for the team.

4th Quarter: Due to the quickness of the game, tiredness among the Uppingham players started to slowly creep in in the last quarter. Our scoring slowly dropped, as well as the increase in the number of turnovers. However, despite this our bench players took the baton and finished the race for the team with a victorious score of 59-29, the highest score this season.

The Player of the Game goes to Barney Waner (WB), with an impressive performance of 21 points. We wish the team good luck in their next game agaisnt Oundle (H).
