Training Ideas, Films, Documentaries, Books and Podcasts

I hope you have been able to get your thirty minutes of daily exercise in this week, this email contains lots more ideas on how you can continue to take part in physical activity – I hope there is something here for everyone.I have also included lots of sports films, documentaries, podcasts and book. Please share with your parents or anyone else you think would benefit.

Many of you have enjoyed using the Nike Training Club App, there is also the Nike Run Club App to record your runs and track your progress. If you run, cycle and swim you might prefer Strava to record your training.

If you would like to do some resistance training at home but do not have any weights you can buy a resistance band on Amazon for under £15.00. Here are some Resistance Band Workouts if you would like to add some strength training to your week.

I would also suggest you find/buy three or more tennis balls so that we can teach you some skills after Easter, you may also want to get a netball, cricket ball, football, lacrosse ball, basketball, hockey ball or rugby ball!

Mr Johnstone will be running some online golf lessons via zoom next term – if you would like to join him you will need some golf balls

Resistance Training for Teens is another great App – they are offering it for free during the COVID-19 breakout, download the App and use this 'school code' at registration: CF32B14B

Here are some 20 minute workouts and Dance Lessons

For swimmers Olympic Champion Adam Peaty has shared some workouts.

For basketball players here is a great free App.

Sport England has also added lots of “Stay In, Work Out” ideas on their website

Olympic Gymnastics Gold Medallist Max Whitlock is streaming live home training sessions at 1530 every Tuesday and Friday

Don Bradman, the greatest cricket batsmen of all time had some great ways to train indoors – even in 1932!
